July 30, 2018 Embarkation Attire - Whats is 1930s Fashion - Art Deco Period and Celebrating the Golden Age of Ocean Liners

July 1998 the first Disney Cruise Liner was christened the Disney Magic by her Godmother, Patty Disney hearkening the romantic travel time of the 1930s and the Golden Age of Cruising

In 1998, the Christening of the Disney Magic brought forth a celebration of the ship's 1930s style and design, a tribute to the Art Deco period and the Golden Age of Transatlantic Ocean Liners. As the Disney Magic pulled into port, the stage was a frenzy of lavish 1930s travelers, steamer trunks in tow ready to board the newest transatlantic ocean liner. Inspired by the theme and romance of the ship's design and her christening, the first family to check in and board the Disney Magic's maiden voyage arrived in art deco period dress ready to embrace a return to the romance of the Golden Age of the 1930s Ocean Liners.

Now exactly 20 years later the Disney Dream, also celebrating the art deco period, will sail from Port Canaveral on the identical itinerary of the Cruise Line's Maiden Voyage. The first person to board the Disney Magic, July 30 1998 is calling on all friends and family to join in the adventure, hearkening the nostalgic design of the Disney Cruise Liners, arrive to the terminal dressed to reflect the 1930s period and the art deco style for a magical moment celebrating Disney Cruise Lines 20 years of Disney Magic at sea!

Mike Kuzma's Golden Adventurers, both land and sea guests, will have the opportunity to dress the part and enjoy special photo opportunities in front of the Disney Cruise Terminal. Motor Coach will transport the group back in time as we journey to the Disney Cruise terminal from the hotel for our exclusive celebration of Disney Cruise Line's 20 years sailing #DCL20!!
